The Beginning:
The idea behind LuciVision originated from the frustrations of VoIP providers trying to create and maintain call flow maps of end user customers. They received constant requests asking for current phone maps so that their end users could understand how the phone system actually worked. Some had simple phone systems that never changed, but a growing number were complex phone systems with a multitude of call centers, auto attendants and hunt groups.
These more complex systems required a significant amount of initial effort to map out and the issue was made worse with the frequent changes that occur in any medium to large sized organization. We found that the phone maps people would spend hours on to create, would quickly become obsolete and the process had to be started all over again. This was the beginning of LuciVision; a intuitive user interface that automatically takes data directly from BroadSoft and then dynamically generates a complete and easy to understand map of an end user’s phone system.
The Realization:
During our design process, we listed the objectives and challenges of LuciVision’s ‘interactive map’. As we looked at various solutions analyzing the benefits and constraints of each, we realized the best way to accomplish these objectives was to pull all of the data from BroadSoft to store, organize and structure it in our own data model. This would allow us to maintain our own consistent data model outside of BroadSoft. The obvious conclusion resulted in our own Database with all of the BroadSoft data in it.
Once the map was created we quickly realized the sheer magnitude of this decision. This was our WOW moment. With all of the data in a consistent format in our own database, the world opened up before us. We realized this would give us access to endless benefits that far exceeded anything BroadSoft or even other third party integrators could provide. Comprehensive “search anything”, custom lists, mass editing, custom sorting and filtering, limitless data access available to us without the constraints of the BroadSoft data model or the shackles of the BroadSoft UI.
The Result:
LuciVision now has a robust system capable of delivering features to VoIP providers and end users alike which have never been provided or in some cases even thought possible, before now. Our enterprise map provides an always accurate and always up to date call flow map. Our comprehensive list view allows users to show any data they want in a filterable and customizable list. Our search anything feature allows a user to search their entire phone system for anything including partial matches. Our historical snapshots allow users to load previous configurations into our viewer or they can even compare configurations. Our dashboard provides change tracking, auditing, and pro-active support notifications. These features of LuciVision are just the first planned. Join us on our journey to discover the possibilities that lay ahead.
